Can you believe Thanksgiving and Christmas have come and gone, and the New Year is upon us? Wow, this past year has been a year of fun for the Young at Heart Club! We had so many fun events. I know this new year will be filled with more great events. Our Night Glow Ball Putting on the Championship putting green was a huge success! We had 16 teams and a wonderful catered Mexican dinner with margaritas and beer. Thanks to Linda Spaulding, Marsha Midgett, and the Christensens for setting up the putting greens. Our pro David Goldstein helped everyone out on the putting greens, along with his adorable children. David even brought music. What a fun time! The winners were: 1st Place: Robert and Michelle Bravo/Joann Dixon and Donna Schein 2nd Place: Bob and Michele Walter/Eric and Ann Marie Hanko 3rd Place: Bonnie Seaver, Linda Hoyt, Beverly Simmons, and Bea Mercado 4th Place: John and Nancy Butler/Ed and Diane Concialdi Jan. 25: NFL playoffs and Chili Cook off held in South Clubhouse. Cost is $10 per person. We will award prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for the best chili. Time to be determined. We will send out a f lyer with all the details. Future events: March: Bocce May: Cinco de Mayo annual golf tournament July: Del Mar September: Murder Mystery November: Hockey at Acrisure Arena These are tentative activities. If there is something you would like to see us have for an event, please let us know. Don't forget if you paid your dues towards the end of the year, your dues will be good till the end of 2026. Membership dues are still only $10 per person. Just a reminder that our events are every other month instead of monthly. If there are events you would like to see Young at Heart host, please email your ideas to crystalwater@dc.rr.com or call Michele Walter at (951) 202-8009; we would love to get some new ideas.
