My name is Carol Tasko, and I have proudly called Sun Lakes home for 39 years. This community is not just where I live — it is where I have invested my time, my leadership, and my heart. I previously served on the Board of Directors from 2004 to 2008, and during that time I was honored to be elected by my fellow board members as the first woman president, serving two terms. Leadership, like stewardship, is about care, responsibility, and trust-and Sun Lakes deserves all three. Today, our community stands at a crossroads. Do we continue as we are, or do we choose to move forward together? I believe change is needed. Our golf courses and restaurant are the heartbeats of Sun Lakes-yet they are not being managed to their full potential. When nearly 80% of our workforce supports food, beverage, and golf, shouldn't our management company have deep experience in exactly those areas? I believe we need a management partner that does. I also believe a divided community cannot thrive. We are strongest when we work together, listen to one another, and act for the common good. If elected, I will advocate for restoring traditions that bring people together-yes, including a daily happy hour, because community is built one conversation at a time. Members deserve a voice, especially when it comes to large and costly projects. Transparency is not optional; it is essential. I also support expanding our Board from five to seven members to better represent our community — a recommendation I previously helped present as chair of an ad hoc committee. At its core, board service is about fiduciary duty: care, loyalty, obedience, confidentiality, and accountability-with loyalty to the membership above all. If you want thoughtful leadership, accountability, and a stronger Sun Lakes, I respectfully ask for your vote. Vote Carol Tasko. Together, let's move Sun Lakes forward. My name is Linda Spaulding. I am running for the Master Board to bring back competent leadership with community involvement. I have no hidden agenda. I have proudly called Sun Lakes home for 22 years. For 16 years I have been a District Delegate and hold the Vice Chair position. I was on the Master Board four years, serving as Vice-President and Treasurer. I know how the Board works, I am a problem solver, and I know how to get things done. Recently, I have seen actions taken by the Board which lead me to be concerned about the future of our community. There have been major Board decisions made without asking for your input. This has led me to run in this election. You should have a say: This is your community. My commitment to you is to provide Ethical Leadership, Affordability and a sense of Community. I want to build unity among our members, smart spending, and partnership with all residents in Sun Lakes. My focus is on the following principles: Ethical Leadership -- Move together in a more positive direction. Listen to you, the members, on important issues, and enact best solutions for the betterment of our Sun Lakes Community. Working together can accomplish great things. Affordability -- Work to make decisions that affect all costs. Major projects need your input; our reserves are at an all-time low of 59.4%, and in 2027 the percentage drops to 51.0%. This is dangerously low for our community and unacceptable for a community our size. A recommended healthy reserve percentage is above 70%; when the reserves are lower special assessments may be added, the value of your home may decrease, and loan approvals and resale ability may be at risk. Community -- As we navigate the demographic changes in Sun Lakes, your ideas and involvement will be important to me. I am confident that with your help we can build a community focused on what we see as our future, powered by your participation, ideas and support. Thank you for your vote and support in this 2026 Master Board election. Candidate Statement Candidate Statement | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2026 | 13
