TERRAMOR BEYOND THE GATES | SUMMER 2026 11 Nestled within the heart of the Terramor community, the Terramor Harvest Society has quickly grown into much more than a garden club — it has become a place where neighbors connect, learn, and literally enjoy the fruits of their labor together. Managed by Farmer Adam of Culinary Farmhouse, the community garden has become a vibrant gathering place for residents looking to reconnect with nature and each other. The Harvest Society operates with two primary growing seasons each year: the cool season and the warm season. During the cooler months, members cultivate crops such as lettuce, kale, carrots, broccoli, peas, and herbs. As temperatures rise, the garden transforms into a summer showcase filled with tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers, melons, and other heat-loving vegetables. This seasonal rotation allows members to experience the rhythm of farming while learning what thrives in Southern California's unique climate. What makes the Harvest Society especially unique is its hands-on, community- driven approach. Volunteers gather weekly in the garden to plant, weed, harvest, maintain beds, and share gardening knowledge with one another. Whether someone is a seasoned gardener or has never planted a seed before, the garden offers a welcoming environment where everyone can participate and learn. One of the greatest rewards for members is taking home the fresh produce they help grow. From vine-ripened tomatoes to crisp salad greens and fragrant herbs, volunteers enjoy access to high-quality, locally grown produce harvested directly from the garden. For many families, it has become a meaningful way to introduce children to healthy eating and sustainable living. Beyond the harvest itself, the garden has cultivated something equally valuable: community. The weekly gatherings foster friendships, conversations, and a shared sense of pride in creating something together. In a fast-paced world, the Terramor Harvest Society reminds residents of the simple joy found in working with the soil, sharing a meal, and building connections with neighbors. As the garden continues to grow, so does the excitement surrounding this special community space, one harvest at a time. There is a $50 per household seasonal fee with flexible work shifts of one to two hours month.
