26 | OHCC LIVING | AUGUST 2026 | Great news! Our new website has gone live on the HOA resident website. Thank you to Zoraya de la Bastida for all her amazing, hard work to make this happen. We are still working through a few bugs and upgrades but check it out. You'll be impressed and more online options will be added soon. Now we just need all our member computer skills to catch up! The website is easy; we make it hard! We recently received a major fabric donation from Carolee Zeigman who is moving out of OHCC. We are so grateful for her beautiful fabrics and wish her the best as she begins the next phase of her life in her new home. We'll miss seeing you, but you'll always be a part of OHCC Sewing Etc. Club. We are expecting another large donation soon, so stay tuned. If you have donations, big or small, call our donations team, Karen Chavez (760) 310-4940 or Judy Dugas-Cilva (310) 422-2426 for pick up or delivery. Our members are so appreciative to have the fabrics, tools, books etc. that enable us to keep up our philanthropic volunteer work. We recently donated yarn and tools to an OHCC group traveling to Africa to help women learn a new skill and provide for their families. Our August meeting will be Thurs., Aug. 6 at 9:30 am in the Lamia Room (not our normal Mykonos Room). Members of that OHCC group will be giving a presentation about their trip and how our donations are being made. Come early for treats and socializing and tell other members to come to this meeting. Also remember to bring your creations to show during sharing. If you wish to join, put a $7 check in our envelope at the front desk. Please remember to fill out an information slip so we have all your contact info. Also, if you are already a member, but your information has changed, you can fill out a form to leave at the front desk too. Happy summer! Create! Written by Diana Homan Sewing Etc. It's August, and the kids are still coming! If you are expecting company, Grandma's Closet stands ready to help make your little ones' visits a bit simpler by loaning out items they might need. If you have kiddies visiting, make reservations now so you don't get caught short. Some items are very popular! We maintain a list of individuals who have items available for loan, including their contact information and the specific items they wish to share. When someone inquires about borrowing, we will provide this list so that the donor and recipient can arrange the details. These loans are intended for our residents' visitors. Borrowed items (excluding car seats, strollers and car booster seats) are not to be taken out of the village or used by anyone other than the borrower. If you have items to loan out such as strollers, car seats, carriers, Pack'n'Plays, high chairs, books, toys, games, or puzzles, please email Naomi at NaomiBKatz@iCloud.com and/or Rich at redcisc@ gmail.com. Be sure to include the items, their age-appropriateness, and your name, address, phone number, and email address for inclusion on the list. Should you find yourself in need of an item or two, please reach out to Rich or Naomi and we will send you the list. Additionally, if your visiting grandchildren have left behind items you won't need for a while, consider offering them for loan at Grandma's Closet. If you have clothing or furniture for babies or children that you can't store or use, please let us know. We would be happy to deliver them to the folks at Father Joe's Village, who are always in need. Thank you for your attention and anticipated assistance. Your continued generosity and support are truly appreciated. ~ Naomi B Katz, naomibkatz@icloud.com Grandma's Closet
