| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2026 | 23 We celebrate women's history — Women's History Month is observed in the U.S. every March, but August features its own observation "Women's Equality Day," celebrated on Aug. 26 since 1920, recognizing the certification of the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote. We just celebrated America's 250th birthday; women have contributed in major ways throughout our history. We have profoundly helped shape the country — we served in war time in the WAC (Women's Army Corps) and as nurses, we stepped into our fighting men's roles in industry at home and the strength of women was embodied by Rosie the Riveter, we supported the Civil Rights movement, and, as the nation's eyes turned to space, we joined NASA and became astronauts. The Golden Girls is a proud group of ladies. We contribute to society by supporting local women at a non-profit organization called REACH. We recently donated $130 and received some beautiful heartfelt thank you notes from the women and children. Last month, we had the privilege to hear from one of our members Caroline Ashford who shared her "life's journey." Caroline is from England in a small town called Sandown the island of Wight. She has traveled and lived in some interesting parts of the U.S., settling at Four Seasons in 2018. Our activities for the month of July. On July 1, 18 of our ladies went to Wilson Creek for lunch and a show. To celebrate July 4, on July 7 we went to see Young Washington. July 10 was our Fun Friday. We gather for Fun Friday every month on the second Friday. On July 23 there was a presentation called Laugh Yoga. Laugh we did; it's just another clever way to relax, have fun, and relieve stress. Our Activities for the month of August. • Aug. 6 is a luncheon at Journey's End at Pechanga. • Aug. 14 is Fun Friday at 1 pm in the Game Room. • Aug. 17 in our own theater, we will be viewing the movie Remarkably Bright Creatures about a grieving widow played by Sally Field who forms an unlikely bond with a clever octopus. • Aug. 24 is our monthly meeting at 1:15 pm for meet and greet before the official meeting at 1:30 pm, beginning with the Pledge of Allegiance. We welcome you to come join this amazing group of ladies and be our guest to see just what we are all about. Please call Julie Rodriguez at (951) 821-1970 with any questions. ank you for being a friend … Our Motto: Having fun, being positive, staying energized, giving back to the community. Golden Girls' Ladies Club Happy Campers RV Club The heat is on and summer is here! Happy Campers are on the move. Our first trip to Prado Regional Park was a huge success. The weather could not have been better. Warm in the afternoon and cool at night. Ray and Velma taught us a new game, Tapped 4, and it was fast and fun. We had our own U.S. Soccer watch party on Wednesday — go USA! As always, we had a lot of amazing food. Mike and Marie's ribs … yum! Prado is a beautiful park with big spaces and lots of trees for shade. It's $45 a night with full hook-ups and seniors save $5 a night. In September, we once again head to Pismo Beach. This year we will be staying at The Pismo Sands RV Park. If you are going, be sure to get your reservations for the Great American Melo Drama. Oct. 8-11 is the Elks Rally at Golden Village Palms. Oct. 25-30 is our trip to Santee Lakes. All residents and their guest are welcomed to join us on any of our adventures. We meet the first Saturday of the month at 10 am in the Lodge. Just follow the laughter. As summer heats up and we hit the road, as always stay safe and happy camping
