big band dance Our Black and White Ball dinner dance will be Sat., Nov. 23. Doors open at 5:30 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Sign ups will be on Wed., Nov. 13, from 1 to 3 pm in the Multipurpose Room with table selection at 1:45 pm. Member price is $30, guests are $33. Bring checks to sign ups or mail/drop off at 1298 Green Island St. Dinner will be a buffet carving station of beef and turkey served by our excellent restaurant staff. Au jus for the beef and gravy with cranberry sauce for the turkey will be provided. Our dances on Friday evenings is our chance to get together with other nice people to practice all the dances we've learned. Our dance schedule for this fall deviates from normal due to the scheduled activities of other clubs. So, please, always refer to our Lifestyles articles for activities, times and places. This month's schedule is below. Fri., Oct. 11 and Fri., Oct. 18 is Country Western Dance. Note Oct. 18, is the third Friday. Our Friday night dances are in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom from 7 to 9 pm. Line dance instructions will be held at the South Clubhouse on Mon., Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 7 to 8:30 pm. We are still teaching beginner line dances so you can still come and give it a try. Couples instructions will be held at the South Clubhouse on Tues., Oct. 8 and 22, from 7 to 8 pm. Info., Joe or Jean, 769-9148. 80s plus club Back by popular demand, the trio of Bettie and Harold Enns and their pal Burt performed at our last meeting to the delight of everyone. In their usual professional manner, Bettie and Harold sang great hits such as "On a Clear Day," "Oh What a Beautiful Morning,"' "That Old Feeling," and "Impossible Dream." Burt gave us a lighthearted "Makin' Whoopee" and to keep up the tempo Bettie sang "Toot, Toot, Tootsie."
