The Social Committee
By Patty Jordan
When you walk into a Four
Seasons Social Committee event,
you see a beautiful, glittery room
all dressed up for a party. What
you don't see are the many hours,
weeks and months that went
into planning and preparing for
this event.
The Social Committee was
formed about seven years ago
at the HOA's request. As with
all official committees, there
are seven voting members,
but there are subcommittees
that involve many "unofficial
members," who do much to assist in
creating successful social activities.
The committee begins planning in
September for the next 12 months. Later in the Fall, Activities
Director, Cindy Graves, meets with all committee chairs to
make sure that there are
no conflicting dates on the
Master Calendar and, after
being approved by the HOA
Board, the Social Committee
events are then set for the
coming year. While Melody
Seewoster is the Committee
Chairperson, each event has its
own chair who is responsible
for all aspects of planning,
including food and décor. The
decorating subcommittee, led
by Pam Mayoral, works with
the Event Chair to design and
create the décor for many of the
events.
At this year's "Evening in
Paris" New Year's Eve party, the
subcommittee worked for months to create all of the glittery
Eiffel towers, the awnings, and the hat box centerpieces by hand
