SOCIAL CLUBS & GROUPS | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2015 | 17 February is the month of Saint Valentine, the month of love, sweethearts, family, caring for friends, and love of our country. Our group typifies this all year long but makes a special point of it this month. Happy Valentine's Day to all and throughout the coming year. Our evening starts at 5:30 pm on Feb. 12 when the Ballroom doors open followed by the music of Skyline Express for dancing and listening pleasure at 6 pm. The dinner buffet starts at 6:30 pm by table call is generally over by 7:30 pm as we feature two buffet tables with two lines each. You will find a carving station with strip loin and sauce, chicken marsala, mashed potatoes, seasonal squash and vegetable medley. A green dinner salad with tomatoes and mushrooms with ranch and raspberry vin dressings will be served at the table along with warm dinner rolls and butter. Red velvet cake for dessert and coffee round out the menu. Sign ups are on the first Thursday of the month in the North Clubhouse at 3 pm. Cost is $22 pp for members, $25 pp for non-resident guests. We are back to our usual place and time for sign ups as last month was an anomaly because of New Year's day. International Culture Club Ladies, if you would like to try something new in 2015, and have an interest in dance, we would LOVE to meet you. On Jan. 10, IDS members and guests were treated by Joan Lau, Nora Huffman and Lisa Chan to a spectacular feast in (early) celebration of the Chinese New Year. We thank these gracious ladies for a lovely evening. If you saw our Folkloric dance performance at Activities Day last month, we hope you enjoyed it. Happy Valentine's Day! International Dancers We ended our year with our December man, Ed Avina. As usual the members enjoyed Ed's easy way of entertaining. We heard many of our holiday favorites. We meet the second Saturday of the month at the South Clubhouse at 3 pm. 80s Plus Club Everyone enjoyed our January dance and there is more to come. The next dance will be March 5 with sign ups on Feb. 18. Save the dates. Not everyone returned our survey but the input from the request indicated 15 members wanted six dances a year and 36 members wanted more than six. We heard you! We have the Main Clubhouse Ballroom reserved for 10 dances in 2015, all on Thursday nights. March will be our first dinner dance. Your selection will be a choice of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots or pasta primavera. A salad will be served with choice of dressing along with apple crisp for dessert.
