SEE'S CANDIES: Easter is right around the corner. See's Candies will be available in the Main Clubhouse on April 1, 2, 3 and 4. The candy sells out fast so get there early. For more information, please call Maureen Keeney at 797-0011. PENNY PINES: The Garden Club recently purchased another six acres in our local forest due to our member's generosity. For more information about the Penny Pines project and how you can participate, please call Linda Callahan at 797-3306. The Garden Club also supports the Plant A Tree project. You can have a tree planted in honor of a loved one or a celebratory occasion . APRIL PROGRAM: We meet the second Wednesday of every month in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom at 10 am. In April one of our community members, Ann Oliver, is going to show us how to plant a tower garden. Tower gardens are great for small places. MAY PROGRAM: May brings the Garden Club's Spring Event. We will have a wonderful luncheon and fashion show. The tickets are on sale and sales are brisk. Proceeds from the spring event will be given to the "Donate Life" organization, an organ donation program. Please call Betty Beidelman at 769-6200 for more information. TRIPS: The May 2 Idyllwild Lilac Walk is still open. An art show and boutique and a tea, which is served in a garden, are included in this trip. The Idyllwild Garden Club sponsors this event. If you have not been before, here is your opportunity. The cost is $55 inclusive. Bus leave at 9 am and returns at 4 pm. Evelyn has also planned two trips to the Grand Tradition Gardens in June and August. Please call Evelyn Hawkins at 845-7199 for your reservation or more information. GIFT BAG PROGRAM: Your wonderful donations of shampoos, conditioners and soaps were given to three charities this past month. The Table of Plenty, House of Decision and the Banning Adult Center. Please continue to bring them to the monthly meeting. Thank you MEMBERSHIP: We accept new members year round. The Sun Lakes Garden Club dues are $15 per year. Renewals are always appreciated. FRUIT PICKERS: Those eager fruit pickers are on stand-by to help you out. If you have a tree you need picked or your neighbor has one that needs picking, call the fruit pickers.
