FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2015 39 We will be taking a break during the months of June, July and August, and will resume Bible Studies on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Have a wonderful summer! Please contact Doc or Letha Sellars with any questions or comments at (951) 797-3302 or docletha72@gmail. com. ~ Doc Sellars Life Guide Bible Study For nine weeks, ending April 24, we studied what the Bible tells us about having courage. We discussed in depth Ephesians 6:11-18, in which Paul outlines what protective gear we need to wear and why when confronted with life's battles. It was interesting to discuss what battles women face in this 21st century, and what Satan throws our way and why. We had some interesting discussions, and collectively learned a lot from each other. In May we began discussing the topic of compassion. We learned that most women are compassionate by nature, and we learned the difference between sympathy, empathy, kindness and compassion. In essence, compassion is an action word, as illustrated many times in the Bible by our exemplar, Jesus Christ. Each member of the class was given a list of 100 random acts of compassion as suggestions. Each member was then given a puzzle piece, and instructed to record on the back of the piece acts of compassion she performed. After all pieces were turned in, there was a beautiful saying on the completed puzzle. Our next subject began on May 15, "A Godly Woman is Decisive." We talked about the difference between a decision and a choice, and how the Bible instructs us to make relevant decisions. Our June subject is "A Godly Woman is Happy/Joyful." If you are reading this article in early June, please consider joining this amazing group of Godly women, who love the Lord and are together learning more about His Word. We meet every Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the first section of the Ballroom. Hope to see you there! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine "Believeā¦" Women's Bible Study
