As you all know our own Cookie Bonner coordinated with the First Missionary Baptist Church Praise Dancers. We collected $500 to assist the young dancers with new uniforms. Your financial support was appreciated as was the encouragement for these wonderful young dancers. Pictures will be sent to us from the sponsor allowing our club members to see how nice these youngsters look in their new attire. Thanks to all who gave from your hearts so that these young people will feel good about themselves as they dance for the Lord. Good job AACC and Ms. Cookie! Juneteeth was celebrated in the Lodge on June 20. It was suggested that each family bring their own entrée and one dish to share. It was a success. Thank you Ms. Betty Ann for being the coordinator of this function. Roxie Elliott is offering to host a boot camp to discuss some important information regarding Trusts, Directives, Last Will and Testaments, etc. This will be Monday, Sept. 14 at 6 pm in the Lodge Card Room. This boot camp is open to all of our neighbors, family members and friends. There will be enough time available after the presentation for Q & A. If you are interested in attending, please contact Roxie at (951) 769-2517. A head count is needed so proper handouts are available to all in attendance, please remember to share this information with others. Happy Birthday to Ralph, I am told he is 55 and better! We celebrated with cake and ice cream. Thank you Nikki Valentine (cake lady). A sincere thank you comes from the heart of Roxie Elliott to all of those who sent cards, food, calls, flowers and prayers in the passing of her sister during the month of May. "I cannot thank you all enough for all the love and support I felt during this most difficult time." Thank you again to my 4FourSeasons Family and AACC members. Martha Benoff was welcomed back from her knee surgery with lots of hugs from the club members. Cookie Bonner also expressed her sincere thanks to everyone who sent cards, desserts, calls and prayers during the recent passing of her mother. Thank you cards will be forthcoming in the near future. What a crowd we had at the Summit to see the 4th of July beautiful fireworks displayed by the city of Beaumont. Great Old School music was provided by Willa and Lee Harris. The music kept us awake while waiting for the fireworks to began. Thanks to you both the sounds brought back great memories! Looking forward to seeing more of you at the next scheduled meeting on Sept. 14. For more information contact Betty Ann James at (951) 572-5538. ~ Wanda Valentine African American Culture Club
