Bridge for Fun We welcome new or experienced bridge players to our group. We meet every Wednesday at 11:30 am. Feel free to bring a lunch or snack. The main idea is learning and fun. We encourage the discussion of conventions as you rotate partners and tables. We all help with scoring this party bridge format. We are not a duplicate group. Candice at (951) 845-0942 is one of the best teachers in Four Seasons and she can guide you in learning duplicate or party bridge. We usually have at least one seasonal party each year. Welcome Phil Jaffe. Keep on playing! Please check at the Lodge desk to verify our room. Come and meet sweet Verina our very own "love" person! We have made wonderful friends and we are blessed! Co-Chairs Verina (951) 769-1681 and Phil (951) 922-2525. ~ Dr. Phil Bridge We are extending hands across the table to those who are interested in the Monday Bridge Club. We are one of the original card playing clubs that came into being over nine years ago and are still going strong with dedicated players. Recently we moved into our new, fresh, attractively decorated room at the extended Lodge. It has the best views of the beautifully landscaped grounds at Four Seasons. Bridge is a gentile game of quiet contemplation and we enjoy playing in the park-like setting. For further information concerning the bridge world at Four Seasons, call Helen Shoemate at (951) 845-9312. I look forward to congratulating you on your next grand slam. ~ Helen Shoemate-Gurley Canasta #1 Join us for an afternoon of friendship and fun while playing a game of Hand and Foot Canasta. We meet in the Card Room every Thursday afternoon, 1 to 4 pm. Each week you may play with someone different, giving you an opportunity to meet other Four Seasons residents and old friends who enjoy an afternoon of "cool" cards. Plus, the Bistro is just down the hall if you would like a snack or a cold drink. We supply the cards so all you have to bring is your body and the desire to have a little fun. If you don't know how to play we are always happy to set up a teaching table and by the time the afternoon is over you will have mastered the game. All you have to do is show up and leave the rest to us. ~ Melody Seewoster Bunco This month we will playing Bunco on the 11th and the 25th. If you have never played Bunco you need to come and give it a try. It is a very simple dice game that can be played with little concentration which makes it easy to play and socialize too. It is a great way to meet some new friends. We meet in the Card Room at 1 pm sharp. So invite a friend or neighbor and join us. Don't forget to grab a drink at Smitty's or maybe even lunch beforehand. See you there. ~ Cheryl Burke & Suzanne Roldan Mah Jongg Everybody is welcome to join us for Mah Jongg at 12:30 pm on Mondays in the 1528 Building. We accept beginners and offer coaching for those who have not played in several years. A current Mah Jongg card is required but you can borrow or copy one until you get your own. You do not have to own a Mah Jongg set to join the fun, so come on out! ~ Barbara Boodreau Pinochle Pinochle is an exciting card game where you bid and bluff to name trump and take control of the game. This game is played with a double deck of special cards of ace through 10 against other aficionados, to tease your mind, and keep you sharp. Come join the game on Wednesday and Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm in the Card Room. Newbies and oldies are welcome for fun and socializing. Info., George Soeten, (951) 797-0254. ~ George Soeten We are looking for players, substitute players, and people who are interested in learning the game. I am happy to teach anyone who wishes to learn the game, either individually or in a small group, your home or mine. Pan is a card game, much on the order of gin in some respects, and played with up to eight people at a table. It is played by both men and women, so men are very welcome as well as women. The game can be played in the day, evening, in a room in the Lodge or in private homes. If you are interested, please call me, Linda Mendelson, at (951) 941-9100 or email me at Goldtoy@earthlink.net and I will answer any questions you may have. As all card games, it is played with both skill and luck. ~ Linda Mendelson Pan 40 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2015
