Thank you!
Is just plain "thank you" enough?
There are too many to thank personally
or to mention all the participants who
made this year's Homeless Vets BBQ a
resounding success.
We collected monetary donations
from companies, organizations and
homeowners. Gifts were purchased for
the raffle and there were an abundance of
these. Time spent setting up and tearing
down after the BBQ took an army of
volunteers from CMI and Four Seasons
homeowners.
Thank you, bakers, for the baked goods
which were distributed to the vet families
after their meals were served. Karen
Brown's Blue Thong team had over 100 hygiene kits which were
also dispensed. Many of the food items were donated. Thank
you, Rancho Foods for your generous donations. Soboba,
again, was also generous with donations. Our special clown,
Big Red, made his second appearance and was well received by
kids and adults alike.
We offer a pictorial review of the day's activities. We had a
lot of fun. At the end of the day, even with sore muscles and a
few limping participants, we left the armory with big smiles
and a sense of a job well done.
The day was giving back to those who have given so much.
