A delicious buffet will be served consisting of a carving station with a strip loin and au jus, turkey with gravy and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and green beans, complete with dinner salad and carrot cake for dessert. Price is $25 for members and $29 for guests. Early sign ups will be Oct. 7 from 1 to 2 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. You may mail or drop off your checks to Pat McClelland at 4932 Rolling Hills (north side). The cut off date for checks to be accepted with be Oct. 21. Should be a great evening, hope to see you there. The second Thursday evening in October is one of the big party nights of the year for us as we celebrate an early Halloween. Many of our members go all out in their costumes, which are optional for those who want to do so. You will see all kinds of characters attending and we will feature a costume march around the dance floor at some point in the evening. Our doors will open at 5:30 pm and music and dancing will start at 6 pm by Global Affair. Our buffet menu for the evening is a witch's concoction of delights and starts at 6:30 pm by table call. You will find an entrée of gutted chicken parts brewed in Satan's marinara sauce, black bone crunching tri top (peppercorn sauce) monster garlic mashed potatoes, cursed asparagus with devil tongue (sliced red bell peppers) mummified rolls and a slab of butter. The dinner salad is table preset and gets you started prior to the buffet being called. It will be axe chopped lettuce with mushrooms/red onion rings/tomatoes/bleu cheese crumbles, bleu cheese and Italian dressings. Coconut bar squares will also be table served along with coffee and ice tea on a side board. You can sign up for this fun evening on the first Thursday afternoon in October at the North Clubhouse at 3 pm. Cost is $22 for a member, and $25 for a non-resident guest. International Culture Club International Dancers 80s Plus Club Big Band Dance Following our very successful show last month, we have received several additional invitations to perform, so we look forward to seeing many of you at one or another of the functions of various clubs, groups or individuals here in Sun Lakes, or perhaps at one of our performances in the local community. We would also like to see some of you involved in Hawaiian dance Wednesday mornings, Folkloric Thursday evenings, Belly Dance Friday afternoons, Flamenco Saturday mornings, Indian, Filipino, or the Asian dances. IDS has been growing, and we wish to continue adding new dancers and new dances. So come out and be part of the fun. The 80s Club always loves to sit back to enjoy Ray Rendon who knows what they like — Old Blue Eyes, Dean Martin and more. His show opens with New York New York, not only was there toe tapping but I also saw a few foot struts. Ray then sang "I Get A Kick Out Of You" and Night and Day." Ray ended the show with his signature song "Mr. Cellophane," but we know he's not invisible we call him a class act. Thanks again, Ray. October is not a catered dinner - desserts are appreciated.
