| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | March 2016 | 26 Bocce New and returning Bocce players, don't forget we have sign-up sheets at the information counter as you enter the Lodge. It's fun, outdoors, and will start March 10 and ends April 28. Every Thursday morning for seven weeks you can enjoy your neighbors and get outside and play the traditional game of Bocce consisting of two player teams, much like shuffleboard. The hardest part of this game is walking out to the Bocce Courts located behind the gym building. We will have on hand the set of eight rules to tell you what you do. So simple you will walk away excited about playing Bocce. Bocce is played everywhere including your favorite country in Europe. Most cities have Bocce Leagues and play year round. Bocce Scramble is played during the spring and our regular season played with four person teams is played late summer/fall season. The Scramble is less complex and gives you most playing strategies and builds confidence to play during the regular season. Sue Marlarkey will be Chairperson for this seven week plus a Championship game for those that would like to compete, and will take charge of the Schedule and arrange a celebration BBQ on the last day of play. Depending on the club's funds, we will provide hot dogs with all the trimmings and side dishes would be pot luck. We have time slots for our 10:15 am, 11 am and 11:45 am bocce players still available. Please join us and experience something different outdoors. If you require more information about playing bocce you can attend a Bocce sign up scheduled for March 6th at 1 pm in the multipurpose room. Bocce Chairperson, Ross Brunetto, 926-8295; Bocce Scramble Chairperson, Sue Marlarkey, 223-3056. Shuffleboard for the moment has taken an early summer vacation from its weekly playing schedule, but the club plans to promote its new season for 2016 early July with information available for players about the sign ups for this year and some club changes. As we break into spring some players take advantage to meet at the shuffleboard courts to get in a few games and have some friendly one on one games. The equipment is always available for any resident to check out and is easily provided to them by our front desk greeters in the Lodge. You will see that the next few issues of the Hemet Herald will not have shuffleboard news, don't worry, we plan to inform our players when the time gets close to our playing season. Thank you in advance for being great sports. Chairperson, Ross Brunetto,926-8295. Mondays at 5:30 pm. We play 9-Ball. Tuesdays in the morning is competitive team play.
