6 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2016 Dennis Gray, 1437 Rock Mountain Park, (951) 769-5155; ddgray1@verizon.net I am running for Board member. I believe in the community and for the welfare of the community. I believe in the motto "What is best for Four Seasons members." I want to see the best for Four Seasons in terms of facilities, safety for all and monies well spent. I have experience in budgeting, dealing with complicated issues, listening to individuals expressing wide ranges of issues and Jeanne Glanville, 441 Everest Peak, (909) 938-4741 I believe the goals and objective for the Board of Directors are: The Board of Directors is entrusted with prudently managing the finances and property of the association. In doing so, it must follow due process, enforce the CC&Rs and bylaws, adopt and enforce rules and regulations while promoting sound fiscal policy. Priorities include operational governance, protection against liabilities and maintain an enjoyable and safe community with integrity and credibility. Jerry Monahan, 441 Everest Peak, (909) 938-4741 I believe the goals and objective for the Board of Directors are: Being responsive to HOA members' concerns in a timely manner, continue maintaining the community in its excellent condition, open communications with HOA members, groups and management. Make improvements to the community within approved budget control. Please list any experiences or reasons why you feel you make a good board member: Fred H. Weck, 285 Chimney Rock, Beaumont, CA 92223, (951) 845-2535, fred.weck@verizon.net I believe the goals and objectives for the Board of Directors are: To support open communication between the Board and the residents, and within the Board itself. To encourage residents to participate in the running of the HOA through volunteering on committees. To be a respectful and attentive listener to residents when they want to convey their thoughts and opinions, whether in person or at a monthly HOA Board meeting. To manage, to the degree possible, our community's growth toward 'build-out'. Five residents have filed to run for two positions on the HOA Board in a special election to be completed Aug. 3. Those running are Jeanne Glanville, Dennis Gray, John Noonan, Jerry Monahan and Fred Weck. The Board seats became open under provisions of the CC&Rs that reduce the number of seats held by builder K. Hovnanian Homes. For 10 years after the first close of escrow the builder appointed four directors; now that number is limited to two. The new members will give homeowners a majority on the seven- member Board for the first time. K Hovnanian will retain two seats until build-out. The two new members will join incumbent President Len Tavernetti, Vice President Claudeen Diaz and Secretary Jean Sandoval. Because the deadline to file for election was June 24, there may be more candidates who filed after the Breeze deadline of June 10. A "Meet the Candidates" night was held in the Ballroom on June 29 to allow voters to become acquainted with the homeowners on the ballot. Immediately after that election packets were mailed to homeowners. Each household has one vote. The ballots will be counted by Inspectors of Election on Aug. 2 with the final tally announced at a special meeting on Aug. 3. The final vote may not be known until the special meeting because of the District Delegate system required by the CC&Rs. The delegates act much like members of the Electoral College in U.S. Presidential elections – with an important difference. Unless a majority of households in a district vote, that district's delegate casts all the district's voting power as he or she sees fit. It is quite possible a single delegate can decide an election unless all districts reach quorum. The Candidate Statements of the five who are running begin at right. SPECIAL ELECTION Candidate Profiles John Noonan I have lived in this wonderful community for the past eight years. I have met the friendliest, sweetest, most generous people and I joke that compared to the last HOA I moved from, at least in this community, everyone waves to you with all five fingers. After the last elections it saddened me to see longtime friendships destroyed because of who they may have supported in the BOD election. I am running for the Board because I do not want to see a Board continued on page 7 continued on page 7 continued on page 7 continued on page 8 continued on page 8
