12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | September 2016 | Security Officer Profile: Joe Hernandez was born in Dallas, Texas nearly 70 years ago – boy, he sure looks good for his age! He comes from a rather large family of six sisters and two brothers; however, both of his brothers were killed during their young adulthood. His family has lived in Los Angeles and San Bernardino. He is the father of three children, and lives in French Valley. Joe lost his oldest daughter at birth, and his son, the youngest, was killed at age 30 in San Francisco in 2011. His surviving daughter lives in the Lake Arrowhead area. Despite the tragedies that have affected Joe and his family, he still presents a pleasant demeanor every day that he is here. Joe also has another job where he works as a handyman. He likes movies, but he does not like to write, or text, and he says that he can remember as a small boy that phones were used to talk, and not to text - he prefers the former. Joe has worked as a Security Guard since 2002, and has been at Four Seasons since 2006 – this will be his 10th year here serving our community… thank you, Joe, for your service and dedication! Access Control Committee Contributed by Ginny Gallagher and Tim Taylor. The committee continues to seek volunteers who can commit to meeting monthly (2nd Wed. of the month at 9 am) and who have the desire to be engaged with numerous safety policies and procedures that will assist to make our community more secure. We are looking for members who have project management and/or information technology experience, and would be willing to research, analyze and present application information that could facilitate safety improvements for our Four Seasons Community. If interested, please contact the front desk to complete the Volunteer Application Form. As reported in the August Herald, the ACC submitted a proposal with recommendations to install delineators at the World Cup entrance approach to result in lane reduction. The intentions of the "delineator project" are to improve safety for our residents by preventing cars passing other cars in this area, and/or "stealing" the transponder access code from a resident. The Board of Directors has reviewed the recommendations and they are requiring revisions to the plan, which the ACC is now working on for resubmission. The ACC recently met with Scott Blakeman, AlliedBarton Client Value Manager for our community, so that Scott could update us on the merger between AlliedBarton and Universal Protective Services. The merger officially occurred on Aug. 1; however, operations will remain status quo with perhaps some consolidation of offices in the near future. Branding will change in stages and over a period of time. Scott estimates that Four Seasons will not see a change in uniform or vehicle branding until February 2017. The companies combined will provide a wider variety of services and technology to all of its clients.
