34 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | October 2016 | From the President – Dave Cometa: I want to give a big thanks to all our golf members and residents of Four Seasons who gave from their hearts in support of our fundraiser this year. This year, as many of you know, $2,500 was raised for the Hemet Police Department to be used as they needed, but the real story for me was how they wanted this money to be used. When the Department heard about our fundraiser and the amount they would receive the Department asked that all the funds go to the Hemet Police volunteers. These volunteers are a force of 78 local residents who give of their time and resources to come along side our local police officers to help out in so many ways. They do it without pay and in many cases, even getting thanked. They, like so many of our Four Seasons clubs, give of themselves in order to help others in need but can only do it with the generosity of others like you. So again, I say thanks to our members and residents for their support. Just a side note, there were winners of our tournament who added their winnings to the fund so the real winners were you and our community. Should you have any questions contact Elliot Yaeger, (951) 223- 3735 or email: ey1611@gmail.com. From the Handicap Chair – Lynn Smith: Question: A player with an established Handicap Index stops for a lengthy period and then resumes playing. Should the player use the last Handicap Index on resumption of play or establish a new Handicap Index? Answer: If the player's scoring record is available via the club's computation service, then the player should use the last Handicap Index. If the scores do not accurately represent the player's current potential ability, the Handicap Committee may modify the player's Handicap Index under Section 8-4c. If the player's record is unavailable, then the player has no Handicap Index until five scores have been posted and a handicap revision takes place. WELCOME NEW PLAYERS! We had three new players that joined us this month. Welcome Barbara Hughes, Ed Allen and Bernie Sebzda. Bernie also loves to play golf, so will join us when he can. NEW COURTS: We are so excited with our new courts! A special thanks to all involved. Especially Deanna, Hank, John K.! DAYS OF PLAY: Come join the fun!
