FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2016 53 What's really exciting about starting the new Curly Cues group here at Four Seasons last January is to watch the members grow and learn every week as they compete against each other. Many friendships have developed through the fun and frivolity experienced each week with these amazing ladies. If you hear periodic cheers or bursts of laughter coming from the Billiards Room as you pass, it's probably because one of the ladies made a great shot and everyone is supportively cheering. Or someone will crack a joke and the whole table will burst into laughter. All in all, this is a really happy and wonderful group of women who are learning to love this difficult and challenging game. (See above photos as proof!) On Dec. 5 we will hold our holiday luncheon at Tukwet, and will bring a wrapped $10 gift to exchange. There was lots of laughter, great food, and fun for everyone. On Dec. 12 we will hold our second in-house tournament, with the usual tension, yet good-natured competitive spirit. (Photos of the Dec. 5 holiday party and Dec. 12 tournament winners will be posted in January's issue.) On Jan. 30 the Curly Cues are looking forward to challenging the Billiards for Fun members to a just-for-fun tournament. All aforesaid participants are now honing their respective skills in anticipation of the first-time tournament. Also in 2017 the Curly Cues will be learning two more billiards games: 1/15 and 9-ball. Most of the ladies have learned the 8-ball rules well, so it will be fun to begin learning these two new games. Since the Curly Cues have ordered a new plaque to display team winners beginning in 2017, you should all check out the new plaque in the Billiards Room! If any of you beautiful Four Seasons ladies are interested in learning the game of billiards, honing your rusty skills, or showing off your billiards prowess, come join us any Monday from 1 to 3 pm in the Billiards Room. You won't be sorry! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine Curly Cues wild bunch Billiards The "Wild Bunch" 8-Ball Billiards group is again showing their competitors that they are the team to beat. Four Seasons "Wild Bunch" consists of some of the best players in the league: Larry Chase, Pete Antoine, Mike Corbett, Mike Fisher, Carlos Rivera, Rocket Spinosa, and Gracy Luna. We are competing with 50 outstanding pool players in the league and our ultimate goal is to win the season championship. If you want to play serious, competitive pool, we invite you to stop by the billiards room when we practice on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 pm and join in the stimulation of competitive play. Who knows, you just may want to change up your game and play on the team. ~ Gracy Luna Teri Martin lines up her shot, as partner Jill Anderson looks on Donna Lewis prepares her next move Sandi Butler-Roberts stretches for her shot
