Ad Hoc Water Management It was the worst of months. July is not a good month for irrigation problems, but have them we did. It started with a marked decrease in pressure that was noticed most uphill from Potrero Creek. Our landscapers attempted to rectify the situation by turning on the pumps designed for this contingency when we have recycled water. Since we are still awaiting recycled water, these pumps had not yet been engaged. Alas, we discovered several of the pumps were either not wired or had the wrong parts in them. To compensate, sprinkler heads were opened wider for greater dispersion of water. While trying to identify the source of reduced pressure, we contacted Beaumont Cherry Valley Water Company (BCVWD). At their end they discovered a worker had closed a valve during maintenance and neglected to reopen it. They reopened the valve before notifying us and the increased pressure forced large amounts of water to fl ood our landscape. The microburst wind of July 12 in the early morning sent sprinkler water over streets and sidewalks. In mid-month BCVWD decided to test the water lines and shut off our irrigation water for the day. New landscape workers responsible for the areas Bistro Several Bistro Committee members met on July 31, however there were not enough members for a quorum. We had a general discussion on topics but no action was taken. The next meeting is Aug. 28, at 11 am in the Conference Room. All homeowners are invited to attend. ~ William Taylor Rules & Regulations I would like to thank all of our homeowners for attending the Town Hall Meetings and the mini Town Hall Meetings. We have had over 500 homeowners in attendance. Thanks to Louise Lyon, Loren DuChesne and Jacque Sneddon for their leadership in holding the Town Hall Meetings. Thank you for all the homeowners that opened their homes for the mini Town Hall Meetings. I would also like to thank Leighton McLaughlin for writing and coordinating all the information that has been placed in the Breeze. Many of our homeowners have expressed their appreciation for the hard work of the committee to get the information out to the community. To recap: The CC&R amendment that the committee is addressing pertains to our age restrictions. Your involvement in the process is very important and we ask that all homeowners take part in the elections. By now, all of the ballots have been mailed and you should have received your ballot and started the voting process. VOTE, VOTE, VOTE! Look for our "Voting Thermometers" at both gates. You can monitor our progress on ballots received. Please be responsible and cast your vote to help secure our community from abuse. Coming events: Our biannual Parking lot/Garage sale will be on Sat., Oct. 13. This is a good time to clean out your garage. You are invited to attend the Rules and Regulations Committee meetings. They are held on the third Thursday of every month at 9 am in the Lodge conference room. ~ Ron Morgan FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2012 13 COMMITTEE NEWS outside the gates were unfamiliar with our water saving test on Crooked Creek and over watered the test site invalidating test results for the month.
