34 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2017 | From the President – Ron Leatherman: This has been crazy couple of months, four holes-in-one, and the latest was by Les Coy. We went over a year without a hole-in-one. This is the best year to come out and play with our Tuesday group. For Cinco de Mayo we had the Clubhouse decorated by some of our lady golfers. I'm not sure who all helped but I know Carrie Stephens, Bonnie Moore and Becki Kenney were three of them. We appreciate all that you do, thank you. It was a fun day for all. From the Tournament Chair – Addis Scott:: You may sign up at our prior Tuesday golf event, or contact the Tournament Committee by email at hemet4sgc@gmail.com. For more information contact Elliot Yaeger at (951) 223.3735 or ey1611@gmail.com. From the Rules Chair – Tom Johnson: Let's revisit a previous suggestion. When you find yourself with a bad lie in a hazard or in a rocky area or in bushes or weeds, be sure you consider the available relief. You will see someone try to hit from within a hazard to avoid taking a penalty stroke. The bad lie they have sometimes leads to a worse position adding many strokes. When you take the penalty and get relief, you usually get a lie that will allow you to get a good shot. Another example is a ball in the rocks or under bushes, where you can with a penalty stroke drop the ball up to two club lengths no closer to the hole. If two club lengths do not get you to a good lie, take a stroke and hit from where you hit your previous shot. Be sure you consider your options before you hit from a bad lie. Avoiding a penalty stroke may lead to trouble and many unnecessary extra strokes.
