| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2017 | 5 very once in awhile we are reminded what a fantastic staff we have helping to manage our complex. The Fourth of July celebration was extremely well managed and monitored throughout the day. One could tell that everyone attending was enjoying themselves. Thanks to Jason Ewals, the Recreation Department Director, and Marla Deckard and their staff. It was a fun day for the residents and guests. That is one department and one event managed by the staff, what about all of the other departments and personnel who perform and assist us every day? Mark Schleiden, Director of Operations, oversees the buildings and common areas in our complex. His assignment is to take care of everything we own except the golf courses. Al Vallecorsa, Director of Golf, takes care of the rest of our complex with the help of Mark Burchfield, the Golf Course Superintendent. Their jobs demand experience and knowledge to make things work on a daily basis, fortunately for us they are extremely qualified and we benefit from their expertise every day. The Planning and Compliance Department is a daily grind that affects our daily life here at Sun Lakes. Our new Department Manager is Etanisla Lopez-Ortiz. She has continued the progress of her predecessor and from all indications will make it better for the residents. If you have a problem with the Accounting Department, go see Kelly Winchell our Financial Services Specialist. She will take care of the problem immediately, if not sooner. Besides the golf courses, we have another revenue generating department, Food and Beverage. Thomas Anagnostopoulos, Director of Food and Beverage Department, has already made an impact on his operation. He has made a host of changes that have benefited the residents. There are others working in the staff offices and the Main Clubhouse, and they are as professional as their supervisors. These are the people the Delegates work with and respect. All of the above personnel are managed by Christopher Mitchell, General Manager, Charlye Sessner, Assistant General Manager, and Tami Morgan, Executive Assistant to the General Manager. It is apparent that the excellence of operations begins at the top and everyone else follows their leadership for the benefit of the members of the HOA. We, the members, are the beneficiaries of all their labor. Thanks to PCM, our management company, for hiring such high caliber personnel. I dare anyone to suggest we should manage our own complex. Only PCM with their reputation would be able to entice our excellent personnel to manage our large complex with as much efficiency.
