Tennis Friends
The Tennis Friends group hosted a table at the Fall Marketplace on
Sat., Oct. 28. The photo of the tennis table shows three of the tennis
friends - Dennis Uhlken, Sharon Uhlken, and Cheryl Robinson.
The purpose of the table was to get out information on the tennis
activities at Four Seasons for any that didn't know, plus some things
have changed a bit.
In summary, there is Social Tennis (doubles) in the mornings
on the two Four Seasons tennis courts every weekday morning
(except Wednesday), and on Saturday morning. Start times vary
depending on the season, usually around 8 to 9 am. Players come
and leave when they want, and while players try to win games and
mini-sets, the atmosphere is more towards fun and exercise than to
win. Call Tracy Trousset at (760) 522-5309 for information. Also on
Wednesday evenings at 7 pm is social doubles play - call Judy Bailey
at (951) 926-1214 for information. Chuck Sims (951) 926-5776 will
also provide some instruction and drills by appointment.
There is a tennis ball machine available for checkout from the
Lodge for practice on the tennis courts.
Besides Four Seasons tennis play, some of the players participate
in men's and women's doubles leagues (full match play) at the Valley-
Wide Recreations Park with six tennis courts. Women on Monday
and Wednesday mornings (call Barbara Patrick at (951) 665-3215),
and men on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (call Dale Patnode at
(951) 766-7779).
Also Dennis Uhlken is volunteering to start and manage singles
and doubles ladders (match play) if there is enough interest. Call
Dennis at (951) 375-7445 if interested.
