4 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2018 | Associa-PCM and the Sun Lakes Country Club Board of Directors has received some negative feedback from homeowners about receiving the monthly billing statements too early. Since the monthly statements are printed and mailed early in the month, sometimes payments are not reflected, which has caused some confusion. Associa-PCM will now print the billing statements later in the month, and mailed on the 23rd of each month. The April statement will be mailed on March 23, 2018. Please don't be alarmed if you don't receive your April billing statement until March 27 or 28. As a reminder, HOA assessment payments are due on the 1st of each month, but a grace period is given until the 15th. Late fees are not accessed until the 16th of the month. Please call the administration office at 769-6649 if you have any questions. New Monthly Billing Schedule Most residents of Sun Lakes Country Club only know their delegate as the guy or gal who run their events. Such as pot lucks or dinner dances, or the person who writes the District newsletter. If you were to attend the election of Board of Directors and the delegates and alternate delegates at the Annual Meeting of our membership on April 11, you would see their real position. The delegates are primarily elected to be the official voter of the members of the Board of Directors. Here is how it works. The residents of Sun Lakes vote for candidates running for positions on the Board of Directors. When the votes are tallied, the delegate votes their entire district in the same percentages as cast by their homeowners. This is very similar to the Electoral College who votes for the President of the United States. If the votes cast in a district are less that 50 percent of the eligible voters, the delegate can cast all of the votes for the entire district any way they wish. This is the primary function of our delegates. In our system of elections, we have an election every year for the Board of Directors. Every year, representing their district, the delegate elects the members to the Board. Following their important position in the election process, the delegate, as part of the District Delegate Assembly, is assigned the official task of making recommendations to the Board of Directors. Any homeowner may make a recommendation to the delegate and the Assembly will discuss it and may forward it to the Board as an official recommendation. This process has developed into Advisory Committees, better care of our common areas, different approaches to our financial systems, etc. The delegates are your representatives who keep you informed of activities in our complex. They use the newsletter or flyers informing you of events on campus or actions of the Board affecting the residents. However, the delegate will be most helpful to you answering your question or directing you to the proper person on staff who can assist you. Our volunteer group is dwindling, and every district needs help. Contact your delegate, thank them for their work and volunteer to help.
