| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2018 | 27 Tennis Friends This tennis ball machine is here for residents to use. It is all charged up and you just need to let the front desk know, so they can bring it out of a storage room for you. You can practice your serves, forehand or backhand. You can see that lots of balls are provided, and a ball-picker-upper is provided too! Since we keep it in on a charger system, please plug it back in when you are done! Just make sure the courts are not reserved, and have at it! Contact the instructor, Shannon Ramsey, at (951) 315-3889 or by email at slramsey11@gmail.com. Her certifications include AFAA, AEA, SPIN, RIPPED, ZUMBA, and CPR/First Aid. There is a special multi-class punch card: 10 classes for $35. Use for all classes with Shannon. Please pick up the new class schedule at the info counter in the Lodge. This schedule includes Silver Sneakers classes, plus the Zumba class sponsored by Rancho Family Medical Group. Here are three tennis myths, that some pros and instructors say to ignore: 1) Myth: Take your racquet back as soon as you see the ball is hit. Truth: You don't have to do this; Most pros take their racquet back just before they hit the ball. 2) Myth: Hit the ball waist high. Truth: This is an impossible goal; some shots are high, some are low. You must play the ball differently each time. 3) Myth: Keep you eye on the ball to hit the sweet spot every time. Truth: It take more than just watching the ball to hit the sweet spot. Judgment enters into each swing. Only practice will help you hit the sweet spot each time. Well, have we opened up some areas of debate? Come out and play to test these theories! (Tennis Myth Article Contributed by Judy) Work out with a certified instructor
