FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2018 41 Let's Dance If you want to be more active and have fun doing it, join us on Tuesday afternoons for Country Line Dance in the Ballroom. Martha Franck volunteers her time as our leader. A weekly donation of $1 will go toward our parties and sock hops. If you have never line danced or if it has been a while and you need a refresher, a Beginner's Class will begin on July 3 and be held every Tuesday at 2:15 pm in the Ballroom. It will be an eight-week course (July and August) so that you can master the basic steps and some simple dances. Please plan on regularly attending, especially the first two to three weeks, to learn the basic steps. Dances will be repeated each week to make sure you are ready to move on to some new dances and steps. The full eight weeks of classes will give you a great introduction to many of the dances we do at the Sock Hops and at Karaoke. The Intermediate Class starts at 3 pm. There is less step-by-step teaching, except for new dances. A quick review of the steps will be done as needed for familiar dances. The Advanced Class starts at 3:45 pm. New dances are introduced but you need to know the basic steps very well and be an experienced dancer. Bring water and wear shoes that can slide on the wood floor. The next Line Dance Sock Hop will be held on Friday, Aug. 17, from 5 to 8:30 pm in the Ballroom. Bring some dinner, or order from The Bistro, and BYOB. This is a free event, thanks to our wonderful DJ Dave Rohrbacker and our Line Dance coordinator, Janine Rohrbacker. Bring your friends! ~ Martha Franck Line Dancing Our Summer Fun Dinner and Dance Party is coming up on Saturday, Aug. 4 in the Ballroom with music by American Made! Look for the poster in the Ballroom for ticket information. This is a very popular event, so plan to get your tickets as soon as possible. Reminder to singles: Our Let's Dance! group has opened the classes for a single resident of Four Seasons to bring a dance partner who does not live in Four Seasons. Our dance for July is Country Western. We do a general overview of many of the most popular CW dances; such as the Ten Step, Cowboy Cha Cha, Two Step and Waltz Across Texas. This month we encourage most every one of all levels to come for each class since we will be learning a new and different dance each week. We will also review each previous dance so you can put your boots on and go out Country dancing ANYWHERE! Please don't forget our free practice sessions on most Thursdays at 6 pm in the Ballroom. Practicing with a group is best because we help and encourage each other. It's amazing how much more you will improve, and retain, by attending these free practice sessions. We are so excited to have our new huge dance floor and we encourage you to come out and join us in the Ballroom on Monday nights from 6 to 7 pm for newcomers and beginners and from 7 to 8 pm for intermediate and advanced. The cost is $10 per person with our professional. Instructors.
