10 TERRAMOR BEYOND THE GATES | SUMMER 2026 For the past five years, Donna Mihovilovich has been holding monthly food drives for our community by collecting donations at her home. Donna, her family, and those who have supported her have found this labor of love quite joyful and rewarding. Their work has made a significant difference to our greater community by allowing our local food banks (St. Mary Magdalene and Corona Norco Child and Parent Center) to serve more people. The need for food continues to rise, especially for children and seniors. One out of seven Riverside county children are consistently at risk of going hungry every day. Seniors on fixed income are finding it increasingly difficult to put food on the table with the continuing rise in the cost of living and changes in benefits. Given the success of Donna's efforts and the increasing need, the Sunshine Club will be expanding this by creating drop-off sites throughout the community, thus making it easier for YOU to donate food every month. We are partnering with PORCH, a non-profit, that helps communities set up effective food collections. One of the main benefits to working with PORCH is that it will allow your donations to be tax deductible. By expanding the drop-off sites, we hope to make it easier for you to make a donation. We will be locating the sites so you can easily drop off your donation in a bin located on the porch of one of your neighbors. Through Donna's efforts, Terramor has been making a difference, and we hope that with PORCH drop-offs within your neighborhood this impact can be larger. Look for the announcement in the newsletter for our first community wide PORCH collection, anticipated for August. Until then keep donating monthly at Donna Mihovilovich's house the first Friday of each month from 12 to 3 pm (or just drop an item off to her during the month).
